The Necessity of A Windscreen Replacement

You might not think it, but getting your windscreen replaced is important. Okay, this is the sort of thing that people want to get fixed as soon as possible. After all, who wants to drive with the front glass of their car cracked, chipped, or just plain gone?

The problem is that some people might not mind having the screen cracked. They argue that as long as it doesn’t block visibility too much, it shouldn’t be an issue.

Well, that mindset is far from correct. Chips and cracks are more than unsightly blemishes. They are a safety issue, and in some places, it’s illegal to drive with damaged windscreens. The same is true for one that hasn’t been properly set into place.

The standard windscreen isn’t one pane of glass, but two. They’re both transparent pieces that are glued together, using a vinyl resin in the centre as binding. This keeps the glass in place, braced against impact and minimising the chance of a shatter causing shards that cut and tear into occupants.

Thanks to the design, any shards that are generated are less likely to be lethal projectiles.

If the windscreen isn’t glued into place, it could pop out during a collision. Sometimes, it might do this during a sudden stop at high speed.

The pane of glass does more than keeping out environmental factors. It also provides structural support for the car. It isn’t much on its own, but the whole structure is designed to have it, not go without it. If the screen is damaged or missing, you risk having the roof of the car collapse.

The biggest risks when driving without a windscreen, though, are safety concerns.

In the event of an accident with rollover, that glass is designed to protect occupants. The panes are getting sturdier, designed to take more punishment. This is a reaction to the frames holding them in place getting thinner, replacing their role in protecting people.

Smaller chips are easily repaired. If they’re smaller than, say, a credit card, you can probably have it sealed by and be on your way.

A crack or chip also becomes a problem for the structure of the pane. The vinyl resin that acts as a safety layer is compromised by any damage to the glass. If this happens, it becomes more vulnerable to any impact.

Cracks can also magnify light coming at the glass. This will impact visibility and perhaps even exacerbate sunlight glare, making it difficult to see as you drive.

Finally, any damage on the glass makes it vulnerable to further damage. A small crack compromises the integrity of the pane, so any further impact can make it bigger or shatter the thing entirely. While the odds of the shards being big enough to kill are unlikely, they can still hurt.

As you can see, there’s plenty of reason to get even a small crack or chip fixed if you see one. Call the experts to get things done soon. With luck, someone local can do on-location repairs instead of asking you to drive over to their shop.

Why Should I Buy A Fuel Station?

When it comes to costly investments, purchasing your own professional fuel station is one of the most expensive. It is not something that you can simply slide under the bed if it doesn’t work out, so you need to do a lot of thinking before you shell out your hard-earned money. Asking yourself certain questions will not only help you decide whether or not you do need a professional fuel station, but can also give you an idea of what kind of fuel station you need.
· Do you travel a lot?
Just because you have a car doesn’t mean you need a professional fuel type station of your own. However, if you have an RV, trailer or truck, and you tend to travel long distances, a fuel station might make things more convenient. People who do a lot of long-distance driving for business or recreation might feel a bit more secure if they can always start their journey on a full tank of gas, and they have around 15 gallons of gas in the back of their truck in case of emergencies. Nobody likes getting stranded in the middle of nowhere.
· Are there a lot of gas stations in your area?
The biggest reason why people buy professional fuel stations in the first place is convenience. If this is the case, it certainly wouldn’t be practical to have one if there’s a gas station just a few blocks away and you’re never in danger of running out of gas in the most inconvenient of places. In fact, dragging along a fuel station to the nearest gas station to gravity feed it and then lugging it all the way home would just mean a lot of unnecessary work. However, if gas stations are a rarity, and you have to travel far just to reach one, having your own gas station may not only help you but your neighbors as well.
· Do you expect to gain any other benefit from it?
If you live in an area where fuel is scarce, having your very own professional station might not only make life easier for you, but more profitable as well. This doesn’t mean you should open your own makeshift gas station, because then you’ll have to contend with a lot of legalities. It doesn’t hurt though to help out a neighbor every now and then in exchange for a small fee. This way, you can get even a small percentage of the investment you put in for the station.
Even after careful consideration, one must realize that operating a professional station is not as easy as it seems. You may want to get yourself a fuel station that is easy to mount, transport and can siphon fuel efficiently. Fortunately, fuel stations can be ordered online so you can compare brands and see which product best suits your needs.

Travel Tips for the Modern World

After years of travelling the world, seeing sights and all that, I have learned a few things. I found out about quirks in other cultures. I learned how to look at the world through different eyes, to get a new perspective on things.

Most of all, I learned how to survive travelling better.

My first bit of advice when you travel is flexibility. Flights can get delayed. Strange things happen. You might not immediately understand what is going on. Do not panic if things fail to go according to plan. Just relax, breathe, and learn to adapt and make things up as you go along.

When travelling somewhere for the first time, I prefer to use packaged tours when possible. It gives you a preview of things and provides you with a surface-level look.

On a second trip, though, I try not to do that. Packaged tours are great but shallow. You don’t get to delve deep into things. If the country you’re going to has a well-developed public transportation system, just travelling to places on your own is a more satisfying experience.

Always have copies of all your relevant documents. Tickets, passports, and other identification should all have spare copies somewhere. It’ll come in handy in case you lose them.

You should always know where your embassy is when you travel internationally. You’re not likely to need to go there at any point unless you did something stupid or something bad happened to you. It just pays to know where it is just in case.

Stay hydrated on long flights. It might not be as fun as getting drunk, but it’s a smart move.

Be sure to learn a few key phrases in the local language. Yes, you will inevitably mangle the accent. However, it helps a lot. Even just learning how to ask if they can speak English can make travelling easier, especially if you choose not to have a guide.

Don’t log into private accounts like social media, banking, and other things from free public wi-fi. You never know just how secure these are, or how easily someone can get the information from them. If you listen to a friend of mine, you shouldn’t use any wi-fi period if you’re in China.

Show respect for local customs and traditions. You’re a visitor in their part of the world. Unless what they’re doing is hurting you or being forced on someone else, show respect.

Don’t post on social media during your trip. It’s practically a written invitation for all sorts of trouble. At the same time, be sure to tell someone where you’re going and for how long.

Try to avoid keeping all of your cash in one spot. While you’re at it, try to avoid carrying credit cards. Most countries still prefer cash over other forms of payment, so you’ll have an easier time than with plastic. Keeping them all in one place can be a disaster if you get robbed, though.

Well, that’s it. Hopefully, I’ve helped you better prepare for wherever your travels take you next.

Come in now and grab some fuel.

We are today and tomorrows cheapest fuel in all of Perth Metro and surrounds. This is a very rare occassion and we are super excited to be able to look after so many wonderful people with cheap fuel.

But as I said it is only today and tomorrow, so be quick.

To give you a quick comparison, we are 5c cheaper than any other service station, and 15c cheaper than our average. We were fortunate to have direct delivery from our last restock batch and this has been what has allowed it.

Just a quick update from our last post. We were fortunate not to have any robberies occur. We believe that the police were able to track the culprit down before we were hit. Phew.

Anyway come down today and grab some fuel. We have some super low prices at the moment as almost a rain winter’s day special. Come in and receive some half price hot drinks or food to keep you warm.

All of our bowsers are undercover and we have towels for you in the event of you getting wet. Our focus is on you and your satisfaction so if you have any suggestions for how we can improve our services in these coming winter months then please let us know.

Whether you leave a comment on here or come into our store, we are happy to receive your feedback.

A robbery

We have heard that currently many of the surrounding service stations have either been robbed or have been attempted to be robbed. We are holding tight here at bp 208 as we have had no signs of activity yet but will certainly be keeping a close look up.

From what we can gather, police are onto the case and currently tracking down those who are involved. Perhaps we will remain lucky and the police catch them before they try and strike again at our service station.

We can simply hold tight and continue to do our jobs until then.

For those of you who are seeking fuel, please dont be afraid to come down, the more people around teh less likely something will happen. Plus our prices are super cheap at the moment so don’t miss out whilst they are low.

Working in a bp

So what is it like working in a bp?

Well its actually very nice, I have worked in many different service stations before and they have never been so fulfilling as working this bp. The high volume of people keeps the day enjoyable interacting with many others and helps to pass the day quickly.

It’s not only the volume of people however, it is also the quality of the service station that bp is. We are always stocked with supplies, made sure we are looked after, and compensated for any work that we have to make up etc.

Another advantage of this service station 208 is that the close proximity fo the city allows for quick and easy transport into the city for lunch, pre and post work and to also interact with many different demographics who operate out of the city.

This also calls for a range of demographic of vehicles and the likings.
The most recent and one of the most spectacular visits to our service station, was a beautiful Chrysler limo. A fantastic piece of machinery, with fold out doors, gunmetal grey matte finish, chrome wheels and all other bells and whistles.

We often have limousines come through our station due to our high-quality fuel and proximity to Perth City however, this one was something special, something different and something deluxe. It must have been the new model and immaculate condition for it was set apart from the rest.

Perhaps next time when they come back I should ask for a ride, it would certainly be worth asking for.
I wonder what will be next to pass through our service station doors.
